Nairobi Feline Sanctuary

Forever home for rescued cats and an education center for the proper care of cats.

Nairobi Feline Sanctuary was established on the 1st of January 2020. We started the sanctuary with no razzmatazz and almost zero resources: Creating a Sanctuary for homeless and special needs cats from the ground up with a few wood posts, wire mesh, and iron sheets, erecting the buildings with our bare hands.

Our driving force was and still is, that we are creating a better world for the cats that find their way to us. We are a rescue center, an animal welfare education center, as well as a sanctuary for cats that need a home.

WE WELCOME ALL CATS, whatever the state of their health, their age, or background. Nairobi Feline Sanctuary also offers cats for adoption. We rescue quite a number of pregnant mothers, and we offer the kittens up for adoption once they are fully vaccinated. We have two newborn kittens’ nurseries. The kittens and the mothers are domiciled in these comfortable and quiet spaces away from the general population.

We are a no-kill shelter. Each and every cat we rescue is given the best chance at life, and the best vet care available. We give individual attention to all the residents and we place cats together according to their personalities.
At NFS, we absolutely love animals, and we think humans are pretty cool too!

Our Mission Statement

Help felines in need through sheltering, adoption, education, spay/neuter, and community outreach.

To build a community where people value animals and treat them with respect and kindness.

Our Guiding Principles

To treat all living things as we ourselves would wish to be treated.

To demonstrate compassion and respect for all living creatures.

To judge our effectiveness by the extent to which animal lives are saved and improved, and by the positive experience of the people we touch.

To lead by example, developing, promoting, and sharing great new ideas and programs to help animals.

To do what we say we do.

To be open and honest in our relationships

You Can Volunteer
The number of cats in our sanctuary increases almost daily. Some of these cats are special needs cats and require round-the-clock care. You can help with feeding, cleaning, and most importantly, petting the cats and socializing them so they can get ready for adoption.

You Can Help by Transporting Cats
We get calls to pick up rescues, and sometimes it’s impossible for sanctuary personnel to get to the animals requiring rescue on time. You can help by offering help either by using your own transportation or by offering your time and we will take care of the transportation logistics.

Network Sanctuary Pets on Social Media

If you have some graphic design, social media or you are generally tech-savvy, you can offer these skills to the sanctuary. We rely on word of mouth to network our cats, and the internet is the first place potential adopters start their search.

You Can Donate Items to the Sanctuary

There are so many things we need and deeply appreciate.

You can donate items such as;-towels, collars, beds, blankets, food and dishes, cleaning supplies and disinfectants, and Newspapers
