Your support makes humane action possible
SUPPORT OUR WORK
Nairobi Feline Sanctuary depends on people and organisations that believe animals deserve protection, appropriate care and lasting solutions.
Your contribution can help us prevent unwanted litters through TNVR, provide medical care, support animals living at the sanctuary, create Paka Mkazi placements and respond to animals in severe need.
Every contribution matters.

General donations
General donations give NFS the flexibility to direct support where it is needed most.
They may contribute towards:
- Food and daily animal care
- Veterinary treatment and medication
- Sterilisation and vaccination
- Rescue and transport
- Hygiene and sanitation
- TNVR operations
- Sanctuary maintenance
- Essential equipment and supplies
- Staff-supported animal care and monitoring
Unrestricted support is especially valuable because animal-welfare needs can change quickly.
MAKE A GENERAL DONATIONSponsor a sanctuary resident
Some animals cannot safely return to their former environment or move into a conventional adoptive home. NFS provides them with ongoing sanctuary care.
You may support a named sanctuary resident through a one-off contribution or monthly sponsorship.
Sponsorship can help provide:
- Food and clean water
- Routine veterinary care
- Vaccination and parasite control
- Medication or continuing treatment
- Safe accommodation
- Bedding, enrichment and daily care
A sanctuary resident may be supported by more than one sponsor. Sponsorship does not create ownership, adoption rights or exclusive access to the animal.
Contributions towards a named resident support that animal’s care alongside the shared services and facilities required to care for all sanctuary residents.

Support medical care
Animals arriving at NFS may need examination, diagnostic testing, medication, surgery, specialist treatment or monitored recovery.
Medical-care donations help us respond to urgent and continuing needs without delaying essential treatment while funding is sought.
You may support:
- A current medical appeal
- Surgery or specialist treatment
- Diagnostic tests
- Medication and recovery care
- Vaccination and preventive treatment
- The general medical-care fund
Treatment needs and veterinary estimates may change as an animal is assessed or responds to care. Where a specific appeal receives more than is required, the remaining funds may be used for a similar medical need or another priority animal-welfare need.
SUPPORT MEDICAL CARESponsor TNVR
TNVR prevents suffering by reducing repeated breeding and improving the health of community-cat populations.
TNVR support may contribute towards:
- Community-cat assessment and planning
- Humane trapping
- Transport
- Sterilisation
- Vaccination
- Veterinary treatment where required
- Safe recovery
- Return and post-return monitoring
- Caregiver guidance and coordination
You may support an individual procedure, contribute towards a community campaign or help fund the wider TNVR programme.
SPONSOR TNVR LEARN ABOUT TNVRSponsor a Paka Mkazi placement
Paka Mkazi creates safe, supported placements for suitable cats that cannot return to their previous location but may not be suited to conventional home adoption.
A placement sponsorship may help cover:
- Health assessment
- Sterilisation and vaccination
- Treatment where required
- Transport to the approved placement
- Initial food and essential supplies
- Acclimatisation support
- Follow-up and monitoring
Sponsors support the placement process; they do not own the cat or control decisions about the cat’s welfare or placement.
SPONSOR A PAKA MKAZI PLACEMENT EXPLORE PAKA MKAZIDonate food and supplies
NFS welcomes useful in-kind support when it matches a confirmed sanctuary or programme need.

- Veterinary diets
- Medication or approved medical supplies
- Litter and cleaning materials
- Carriers, traps and recovery equipment
- Bedding and enrichment materials
- Feeding and water bowls

ASK ABOUT CURRENT NEEDSCorporate and institutional support
Businesses and institutions can support NFS through:
- Corporate donations
- Sponsorship of TNVR or medical care
- Food or equipment support
- Staff fundraising
- Workplace giving
- Matched-giving programmes
- Approved employee volunteer days
- Professional or pro bono services
- Long-term programme partnerships
We welcome partnerships that are practical, transparent and aligned with animal welfare.
The scope, responsibilities, costs, recognition and reporting arrangements for each partnership will be agreed in advance.
DISCUSS A CORPORATE PARTNERSHIPHow we use and account for donations
NFS is committed to responsible and transparent use of donor support.
We will:
- Maintain records of donations received and programme expenditure
- Use general donations where they can meet the greatest current need
- Apply restricted donations to the stated purpose wherever possible
- Communicate clearly when raising funds for a specific animal or programme
- Provide payment acknowledgement or a receipt on request
- Protect donors’ personal information
- Share appropriate programme and impact updates through our public communication channels
If a specific appeal or programme receives more funding than is required, or if circumstances make the original use impossible, the balance may be directed to a similar need or the area of greatest animal-welfare need. This will be disclosed clearly on the website and in relevant fundraising communications.
Donations support welfare work; they do not give a donor ownership of an animal or authority over veterinary, placement or operational decisions.
